Teachers' Course 2010

July 28 - August 1, 2010

Very often, teachers need to be inspired. Ask yourself:
• Is my teaching methodology still valid?
• What new ideas can I incorporate in my teaching?
• Do my classes have enthusiasm and energy?
• Are my students up to standard?
• Are their parents satisfied with their progress?

The Teachers Intensive will provide answers, both practical and positive. Included is the Performance Awards program which has been proved to be of great value to teachers. See inside for details

What every dancer should know about The American Academy of Ballet Summer School of Excellence.

1) Our Summer School is called the School of Excellence because that is what it is. Several teachers have told me that our Summer School is one of the best in America.

2) We have a dorm building all to ourselves. You will sleep two to a room that has its own bathroom. Include air-conditioning and college life does not get more luxurious - (no bathrooms at the end of the hallway).

3) Nor does instruction get any better anywhere. Our faculty includes some of the best and most famous teachers in the world. Their classes are awesome, guaranteed to improve everything about you - your technique, your style of dance, your presentation, your stage personality.

4) This instruction takes place in 8 large, high-ceiling, light studios all in the same building - air-conditioned!

5) The studios are a five minute walk from the dorm building - no busing to and fro; no hanging around waiting for the buses.

6) When it comes to performances, again, we are the best. At our Gala performance, you will dance on the large stage of the 1,300 seat Concert Hall (opera house).

7) Leisure activities are great fun including a disco night. At Summer School, you will never be able to say: "Boring".

8) Word of our excellence has spread: Last year students attended Summer School from Canada, England, France, Argentina, Mexico, Venezuela, Japan, Bangkok, Israel, South Africa, Uruguay, Paraguay- and, of course from all over the United States.

9) All meals are catered by the well-known company (in Westchester County) Stew Leonard, which will meet any special dietary needs. They have their own farm, so the food is amazing.

10) Our Summer School is the only Summer School in the world that has the Performance Awards program. If you sign up for this, you get extra coaching, an additional performance opportunity, and will be awarded a certificate and a medal of achievement.

11) Need more convincing that we are the best? Come to Summer School and see for yourself!

Internationally Acclaimed
Performance Awards

The Performance Awards are a series of distinctive choreographic compositions over 12 levels, that your students perform before an audience of parents and friends. A most important aspect of the Performance Awards is that they are NOT competitive - each student receives a medal, and a certificate.
